Love Kills
Retired police detective Danny Love pictures himself as a hard-boiled PI now that he's hung his own shingle. He likes being his own boss, and business is steady, but some personal issues have led to a potential financial crisis that is keeping him awake at night.
Love believes that his problems are over when a wealthy client enters his office with a lucrative offer. Despite his intense dislike of Catherine Godfrey due to her arrogance and entitlement, the thought of alleviating his money woes is too enticing to resist, and he takes the case. However, as the investigation progresses, it soon becomes apparent that things are not as they seem, and Love is forced to recall the old adage that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. |
Oath-Bound
The conclusion to the Masters of the Storm series finds High commander Ryken recovering from a critical wound he received from a demon. For the first time in his life, his recuperation has left him with no responsibilities, even as the kingdom remains threatened by a barbarian sorcerer. While Cragor, Ryken's second-in-command, leads the warriors both in battling demons and in searching for the missing sorcerer, Ryken becomes uncomfortably aware of an unbidden yearning to leave the warrior class.
As Ryken struggles to come to terms with his secret desire that is totally at odds with his oath-bound duty to the Covenant, the arch mage reveals to Ryken that not only did he father children with Ravenwynd, a witch in another realm, but those children are spoken of in a prophecy as the key to defeating the sorcerer. When the arch mage kidnaps the children from their home so they can fulfill the prophecy and hopefully save Kildaga, Ryken is faced with the hardest decision of his life, pitting his newfound desire to safeguard his children against his sworn duty to the Covenant. |
Myrantia
Seventeen years after the birth of the first shaman heralded the coming of a new era, and fifteen years after a brutal war erupted with the barbarian kingdom of Myrantia over their refusal to hand over the shamans born within their borders, the first class of shamans is finally due to graduate from the Academy. Though the existing mages have attempted to learn the shamanic magic, only a few have gained the expertise that the shamans will have. Arch mage Rodsmic has worked hard to rebuild Kildaga after the treasonous actions of the past two arch mages and is looking forward to a peaceful transition from the Age of Mages to the Age of Shamans.
The arch mage’s hopes are shattered when a Kildagan outpost on the barbarian continent of Darmira is attacked and the mages and warriors stationed there disappear. At the same time, a mysterious storm besieges the Kildagan capital city of Gryzchek. Ryken, the high commander of the warrior class, is sent to the Barbaric Kingdom of Myrantia to find out what has become of his countrymen. The commander soon starts to suspect that the storm and the attack are connected, and the Kildagans learn that they are facing the two things they fear most in the world: witchcraft and sorcery. Ryken will stop at nothing to defeat the dark barbarian magic, battling the council, the mages of his expedition, and even his own conscience. |
The Arcana of the Arch Mage
Many years after Darakin, a mage from the magical realm of Kwagl, was accidentally summoned to a modern world, he was happily living with his wife and children on a farm in upstate New York. When events led to his return with his family to his homeland, he and his children aided in the overthrow of Etheran, a corrupt arch mage. The family returned to their home believing they would never see that world again.
However, Etheran was deposed before he could teach Rodsmic, his successor, the arch mage’s Arcana, and now Etheran has escaped to Darakin’s realm taking the precious knowledge of the Arcana with him. Rodsmic will stop at nothing to retrieve the Arcana and sends a posse of warriors to Darakin’s world to capture Etheran. High Commander Ryken enlists Darakin’s help to search the unfamiliar world, but the longer Ryken is there, the more Darakin wonders if his true purpose is to return Etheran or the Arcana. And the only person in the Universe besides Etheran who knows any of the Arcana is Darakin. |
